Arta FM is an independent community radio station that was established on July 6, 2013, and broadcasts on FM on frequency 99.5 in the Al-Jazeera region in northeastern Syria (Amouda, Qamishli/Qamishlo, Al-Hasakah, Al-Malikiyah/Dayrik and Ma’bada/Girke Legeh). The radio also broadcasts on the Internet and the Nilesat satellite network.
Arta FM 99.5 also broadcasts on the Internet and the Nilesat satellite network. Arta FM is the first and only Syrian radio that broadcasts in four languages: Kurdish, Arabic, Syriac and Armenian, which are the languages spoken by residents of the northern regions of Syria.
It is one of the few media outlets in Syria that works effectively to improve relations between different civil groups in the region.
